How to Control Construction Quality in Lime Kiln Maintenance
As a high-temperature calcination equipment, lime kilns are prone to problems such as refractory material detachment and steel structure deformation during long-term operation. The quality of maintenance and construction directly affects the lifespan and production safety of the kiln. To ensure the effectiveness of maintenance, quality control should be carried out from the following aspects:
1、 Preparation before construction
Plan review: Develop a special maintenance plan based on the degree of damage to the kiln, clarify the selection of refractory materials (such as high alumina bricks and magnesia bricks), construction technology, and acceptance standards, and implement it after approval by the technical department.
Material inspection: Conduct spot checks on key materials such as refractory bricks and castables to verify their chemical composition, refractoriness, and dimensional deviations, ensuring compliance with design requirements.
2、 Construction process control
Grassroots treatment: Thoroughly remove residual materials and loose refractory layers in the kiln, carry out rust removal and anti-corrosion treatment on the steel structure, and avoid hollowing or falling off due to defects in the base layer.
Process execution: Strictly mix refractory castables according to the ratio and control the compaction degree of vibration; When laying refractory bricks, staggered joints are used for overlapping, with a mortar joint thickness of ≤ 2mm to ensure structural stability.
Maintenance monitoring: Control the maintenance temperature and humidity according to the material characteristics to avoid cracking caused by rapid cooling and heating.
3、 Acceptance and traceability
After the completion of construction, conduct visual inspection, thickness measurement, and kiln testing, retain image records, and establish maintenance files to provide a basis for subsequent maintenance. Through full process control, the quality of lime kiln maintenance can be significantly improved and the service life of equipment can be extended.
