Working principle of veneer peeling machine

Single board rotary veneer machine is a specialized equipment for processing logs into continuous single boards, and its working principle is based on the physical process of rotary cutting. After the machine is started, the hydraulic card shaft system firmly fixes both ends of the log, and the driving motor drives the log to rotate at a constant speed. At this point, the tool holder installed on the precision guide rail begins to feed laterally, and the sharp rotary cutting blade approaches the surface of the log at a set angle.

When the rotating log comes into contact with the rotary cutter, the blade continuously cuts the wood in a "peeling apple peel" manner. During the cutting process, the tool gap control system monitors the thickness of the single board in real time and automatically adjusts the position of the tool holder through a servo motor to ensure uniform thickness of the single board. The peeled veneer is smoothly output through the guide roller device, and at the same time, the diameter of the log gradually decreases with cutting, and the clamping system will shrink accordingly to maintain the clamping force.

The key lies in the precise coordination between the rotary cutting angle and cutting speed. The installation angle of the rotary cutter needs to be adjusted according to the type of wood. Hardwood usually uses a cutting angle of 20-25 degrees, while softwood has a cutting angle of 25-30 degrees. The frequency conversion control system will automatically reduce the speed according to the change in the diameter of the log, maintaining a constant linear cutting speed. When the remaining diameter of the log reaches the set value, the automatic alarm system is activated to complete the entire rotary cutting cycle. This mechatronics integrated design enables the veneer peeling machine to efficiently produce high-quality veneers with a thickness of 0.3-6mm.
