What steel processing is required for lime shaft kiln equipment

As a high-temperature calcination equipment, the selection of steel for lime shaft kiln directly affects the service life and production safety of the equipment. According to the working environment of different parts of the shaft kiln, steel varieties with corresponding characteristics need to be selected.

The high-temperature section of the kiln body is usually made of heat-resistant steel materials. The temperature of the preheating and calcination sections can reach 900-1200 ℃, and 310S stainless steel or 253MA heat-resistant steel is often used. These types of steel can still maintain good oxidation resistance and strength at high temperatures. Q345R boiler pressure vessel steel can be used in the lower temperature area of the kiln body, with a temperature resistance performance of about 400 ℃.

Internal components have stricter material requirements. 2520 duplex stainless steel is commonly used for lifting devices and refractory brick anchors, which has excellent resistance to high temperature oxidation and sulfide corrosion. The components of the grate cooler are mostly made of ZG40Cr25Ni20 heat-resistant cast steel, which can withstand the dual effects of material wear and high temperature.

The supporting structure mainly considers strength factors. The kiln support ring and supporting wheel device often use 42CrMo alloy structural steel, which has sufficient strength and toughness after quenching and tempering treatment. The basic framework can use Q235B or Q355B carbon structural steel to ensure strength and control costs.

The selection of transmission system components focuses on wear resistance. ZG42CrMo cast steel is commonly used for large gears, and the tooth surface is quenched. ZG55 or ZG65 cast steel is commonly used for supporting wheels and pulleys, combined with surface quenching technology to improve wear resistance.

Reasonable material selection requires comprehensive consideration of working temperature, stress conditions, wear resistance requirements, and cost factors. With the advancement of material technology, more high-performance steel is being applied in lime kiln equipment, providing guarantees for the long-term safe operation of the equipment.
