Tips for setting the hot pressing time of plywood hot press machine
Hot pressing time is one of the key parameters affecting the quality of plywood. Reasonable setting can ensure bonding strength and improve production efficiency. The following are the key techniques for setting the hot pressing time:
Adjust according to the thickness of the board
The hot pressing time is directly proportional to the thickness of the board, usually taking 30-60 seconds per millimeter of thickness. For example, it is recommended to heat press 12mm plywood for 6-12 minutes, which needs to be adjusted according to the curing characteristics of the adhesive.
Consider the synergistic effect of temperature and pressure
High temperature and high pressure can shorten the hot pressing time, but it is necessary to avoid the adhesive layer being too brittle. If the hot pressing temperature is high (such as 140~150 ℃), the time can be reduced by 10%~15%; Low temperatures (110-120 ℃) require appropriate extension.
The influence of adhesive types
Urea formaldehyde resin adhesive cures quickly and can take slightly less time; Phenolic resin adhesive requires a longer time to ensure complete curing. Suggest referring to the process parameters provided by the adhesive supplier.
Optimization of pressure testing verification
During the first production, the time can be adjusted through small batch pressure testing to check the bonding strength and delamination, gradually optimizing to the optimal value.
Reasonable hot pressing time can balance quality and efficiency, and needs to be flexibly adjusted based on equipment performance and material characteristics to ensure stable performance of plywood.
