Equipment commissioning is the basis. The concentricity of the clamp shaft of the rotary cutting machine shall be checked regularly to ensure that the wood section does not deflect during rotation, and the error shall be controlled within 0.05mm. At the same time, adjust the pressure of the feed roller to stabilize the conveying section and avoid deformation caused by excessive extrusion. In addition, the high-precision grating ruler or laser range finder is installed to monitor the diameter change of the wood section in real time, and cooperate with the CNC system to dynamically adjust the feed speed of the rotary cutter, which can effectively reduce the thickness fluctuation.
Tool management is the core. Choose high hardness and high wear-resistant alloy rotary cutter, and regularly check the edge sharpness. Blunt cutter will cause rough surface and uneven thickness of single plate. It is recommended to grind the blade every 50 cubic meters of wood processed and maintain an angle of 18 ° - 22 °. At the same time, control the parallelism error between the tool axis and the clamping axis within 0.02mm, so as to avoid the single-plate ripple caused by tool inclination.
Process optimization is the guarantee. Rotary cutting parameters shall be adjusted according to the moisture content of wood (recommended to be controlled at 8% - 12%). Too high humidity will lead to adhesion of veneer and too low humidity will lead to cracking. For wood sections with large diameter difference, segmented rotary cutting process shall be adopted. First, coarse rotate the large diameter section and then fine rotate the small diameter section to improve the overall accuracy.
