How to ensure the quality of lime calcined in lime kiln
Lime kiln calcination of lime, quality is the core lifeline. To ensure the production of high-quality lime, it is necessary to work together from three aspects: raw materials, processes, and equipment.
Raw materials are the foundation. The quality of limestone directly affects its quality. Therefore, ores with high CaCO3 content, low impurities, and uniform particle size should be selected to avoid being too large or too small. If harmful elements such as sulfur and phosphorus exceed the standard in the raw materials, the activity of lime will decrease after calcination, which will also affect downstream applications. Therefore, strict testing is required before the raw materials enter the kiln.
Process control is key. The calcination temperature should be precise, generally controlled between 900 ℃ and 1200 ℃. If the temperature is too low, the limestone decomposition may not be complete; If the temperature is too high, lime is prone to overburning and its activity decreases. The calcination time also needs to be reasonable, as short time leads to insufficient reaction; Long time leads to increased energy consumption. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure good ventilation to fully burn the fuel, provide a stable heat source for calcination, and avoid incomplete combustion caused by oxygen deficiency, resulting in the production of black core lime.
Equipment performance is the guarantee. Advanced lime kilns have functions such as uniform material distribution, precise temperature control, and efficient heat exchange. Uniform fabric can ensure consistent heating of raw materials, avoiding local overheating or overburning; The precise temperature control system can adjust the temperature in real time to ensure that the calcination is carried out in the optimal range; Efficient heat exchange equipment can recover waste heat, reduce energy consumption, and ensure stable temperature inside the kiln.
