What are the components of lime kiln equipment
As the core equipment for calcining limestone, the efficient operation of the lime vertical kiln relies on the collaborative operation of multiple systems. A typical lime kiln equipment mainly consists of four modules:
The feeding equipment is the starting point of production, covering components such as bucket elevators, vibrating feeders, and silos. The limestone with uniform particle size is transported to the top material bin of the kiln through a bucket elevator, and the vibrating feeder precisely controls the feeding speed to ensure stable supply of raw materials.
The fabric equipment directly affects the quality of calcination. The rotating material feeder or multi-point material feeder evenly spreads limestone in the kiln to avoid local segregation. Combined with the gradient design of preheating zone, calcination zone, and cooling zone, it achieves efficient utilization of thermal energy.
The ash unloading equipment is located at the bottom of the kiln and uses star shaped ash unloading valves or screw conveyors to continuously discharge the calcined active lime. Some equipment is equipped with sealed structures to prevent air leakage from affecting the pressure balance inside the kiln.
The air supply equipment is the key to the combustion system, including Roots blowers, air ducts, and burners. The fan pressurizes the air and transports it into the kiln, mixing it with fuel to form a high-temperature flame, providing a continuous heat source of 1200-1400 ℃ for the calcination reaction.
Modern lime kilns also integrate auxiliary equipment such as dust removal systems and automation control systems, which monitor temperature, pressure, and other parameters in real-time through PLC, achieving the dual goals of energy conservation, consumption reduction, and environmental emissions.
