How to improve lime production to reduce operating costs per unit product

In lime production, increasing production capacity plays a decisive role in sharing fixed costs and reducing unit product operating costs. After the increase in production capacity, fixed expenses such as depreciation, labor, and management fees are spread out to more products, and variable costs such as fuel and electricity consumption also decrease due to economies of scale.

Stable calcination conditions are a prerequisite. Maintain a stable temperature of 1050 ℃ to 1150 ℃ in the calcination zone to avoid frequent kiln shutdowns or temperature fluctuations that may lead to a decrease in production. Temperature fluctuations not only reduce product qualification rates, but also increase the cost of reflow or rework. By introducing an automated control system and adjusting the air coal ratio in real time, it is possible to effectively maintain the stability of the thermal system and reduce human operational deviations.

Strengthen preheating and cooling recovery. By using the exhaust gas from the kiln tail to preheat the combustion air or dry the raw materials, the temperature of the raw materials entering the kiln can be increased, the calcination time can be shortened, and the ash discharge rhythm can be accelerated. Simultaneously recovering ash sensible heat for waste heat utilization, reducing fuel consumption per unit, and achieving higher output with the same fuel input.

Optimize the kiln structure and operating system. Adopting a kiln design with a reasonable aspect ratio ensures uniform air permeability of the material column and reduces the occurrence of air flow short circuits. Reasonably adjust the ash discharge interval to avoid uneven unloading that may cause the material surface to sink uniformly, and improve the utilization rate of effective calcination time.

The quality management of raw materials cannot be ignored. Strictly controlling the particle size range of limestone to 40-80mm and ensuring good grading can reduce powder entering the kiln, improve the air permeability and heat exchange efficiency inside the kiln, and increase the hourly output. The better the uniformity of raw materials, the more stable the kiln condition, and the more fully the production capacity is utilized.

Through the systematic promotion of the above measures, production capacity can be increased by 10% to 15%, fixed costs per unit product can be significantly reduced, and comprehensive operating costs can be reduced by 5% to 8%, resulting in considerable economic benefits.
