Mechanized environmental protection shaft kiln adapted to limestone raw material standards

Mechanized and environmentally friendly lime shaft kilns have strict requirements for the quality of raw materials, which directly determine the calcination conditions, product quality, energy consumption indicators, and environmental protection effects. To ensure the stable operation of the vertical kiln automation and the production of high activity and high-quality lime, it is necessary to strictly select limestone with standard specifications and qualified composition in production. The core selection criteria are particle size of 40-80mm and calcium oxide content of over 50%.

The particle size of raw materials is a key indicator for adapting to mechanized shaft kiln calcination, and must be uniformly controlled within 40-80mm during production. This particle size range can ensure moderate material stacking density, uniform and stable ventilation and air permeability in the kiln, and is suitable for the operation mode of mechanical material distribution, automatic air supply, and uniform unloading in shaft kilns. Excessive stone powder with a particle size less than 40mm can block the ventilation channels inside the kiln, causing uneven oxygen supply, kiln wall nodules, and offset of the calcination zone; Stones with a particle size greater than 80mm have slow thermal conductivity and are prone to internal undercooking and surface overburning, resulting in a significant decrease in the final product qualification rate.

In terms of chemical composition, the calcium oxide content of the limestone entering the kiln needs to be stable at 50% or above. Adequate calcium oxide base content is the foundation for firing high activity and high-purity quicklime, which can effectively ensure that the finished lime meets the standard for calcium oxide content and has excellent activity. If the content of calcium oxide in the raw material is too low and the proportion of impurities is too high, it will not only lead to substandard product quality, but also increase fuel consumption, aggravate slagging and ash accumulation problems in the kiln, increase environmental treatment pressure, and violate the production advantages of energy-saving and low consumption of environmentally friendly vertical kilns.

In addition, the limestone entering the kiln should minimize the mixing of soil, powder, and impurities to ensure the cleanliness of the stone material. Standardizing the screening and control of raw materials, strictly implementing particle size and composition standards, can effectively avoid kiln calcination failures, stabilize production conditions, and achieve efficient, environmentally friendly, and low consumption large-scale lime production.
